Nathan Collier, Founder and Chairman

Collier has been involved in multifamily acquisition, operation, and finance for more than thirty years, assembling a portfolio of approximately 9,600 units and more than 21,000 bedrooms. He has built what is probably the largest and most successful student housing portfolio from a single duplex purchased while he was in college, and has been recognized by Forbes magazine and the National Multi Housing Council as a leader in the field.

Collier earned a BS in Finance, an MBA with an Accounting concentration, and a JD from the University of Florida, and he is a member of Harvard Business School’s OPM 25 class. He is a member of the Florida Bar, and is licensed in Florida as a real estate broker, a CPA, and a building contractor. Collier is lead author of Construction Funding, The Process of Real Estate Development, Appraisal, and Finance, published by John Wiley & Sons, currently in its fourth edition.

He has endowed the Nathan Collier Master of Science in Real Estate program at University of Florida’s Hough Graduate School of Business, where he routinely teaches as an adjunct professor. Collier is a life member of the University of Florida Foundation and on the executive committee of Gator Boosters, Inc. and the National Multi Housing Council, where he serves as chair of its Student Housing Committee. He is on the board of U.F.’s Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies, is a member of the National Association of Home Builders Multifamily Council and Urban Land Institute, and is active in World Presidents’ Organization.

J. Andrew Hogshead, Chief Executive Officer

Hogshead is responsible for meeting the company’s strategic goals for growth and corporate financial structure. He joined The Collier Companies in 2004 after a seven-year financial relationship with the company. Hogshead has a 20-year background in real estate finance, most recently as a senior vice president in Wachovia’s Real Estate Finance Group. He also has worked for large and small real estate investment banking firms in New York City. Hogshead is a graduate of Harvard University and holds an MBA with a real estate and finance concentration from Columbia University. He sits on the board of the National Multi Housing Council and U.F.’s Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies.

Carl Cataudella, Collier Companies Construction, Inc.

Cataudella has been involved in real estate acquisition, entitlement, planning, and development for more than eighteen years, with 600+ residential and commercial projects to his credit. Joining the company in 2007, Cataudella is responsible for The Collier Companies’ development efforts, maintaining a robust, profitable, and sensible risk profile development division. Previously, he was with Boca Developers, Inc., one of South Florida’s largest condominium developers, where he served as development manager. During his time there, Cataudella managed the simultaneous development of more than eight high-end luxury condominium communities consisting of 24 towers, amassing some 8,000 units totaling over $2.5 billion. He holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Florida.
